The Ball Committee

Biana Arentz, Co-Chair

Biana Arentz resides in Grasonville with her husband and two children.  She is one of the founding members of Bosom Buddies Charities.  Biana is co-chair of the 2012 Ball and her daughter, Elizabeth, 13, is a Junior Member of the Committee. She  is Vice Chair of the Board of  Trustees of  Anne Arundel Health Systems and is a Director for  the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.  Biana and her husband are Realtors with Long and Foster.  The Queen Anne’s County Chamber of  Commerce named Biana 2008 Business Leader of the Year. Her Mother is a Breast Cancer Survivor.

Donna Moran, Co-Chair

Donna Moran has been a resident of Queen Anne’s County since 1986. She and her husband owned the Moran Insurance Agency in Severna Park where she worked for over 24 years in the Property and Casualty Insurance field before they sold their business in 2005. She served as the Vice-Chair of the Bosom Buddies Ball in 2010 and 2011 and will Co-Chair the 2012 Ball. She is a founding member of Bosom Buddies and has served in various positions since its inception. Having worked with a number of charities over the years has always been rewarding but Bosom Buddies is personal to her as both her grandmother and mother are breast cancer survivors.

Cathy Adelman

Cathy Adelman and her husband, Al, moved to Kent Island in 2003, after relocating the law offices to Annapolis from Montgomery County. She has been a member of the Bosom Buddies Committee since 2008 and is now serving as a member of the Board. Cathy is also on the Foundation Board for Anne Arundel Medical Center. She has been an active volunteer for many organizations including schools, hospitals, church and community based groups. Giving Back is a family commitment. She and her husband have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. Her mother survived breast cancer but her aunts lost their battle. Her sister died of breast cancer in 2009.

Elizabeth Arentz

Elizabeth Arentz is a ninth grade honor student at Kent Island High School. A life best lived is one that includes service to others.  She takes this message to heart and has been very involved in raising breast cancer awareness among her peers.  She helped put together Bosom Buddies first annual Pink Attitude-Show you Care, Be Aware  event at Kent Island High School in October. Elizabeth joined the Bosom Buddies Ball Committee as a Junior member in 2011.

 

Linda Bailey

Linda Bailey was born and raised in Southern California where she earned a Computer Science degree from CSU Domingus Hills.  She has lived on the Eastern Shore with her husband Mark and son Chase since 1999.  She is responsible for a variety of significant IT developments ranging from the digital drivers license to ATM fee sharing.  Linda created and served as president of the Prospect Bay Swim team, a board member and president of Prospect Bay, treasurer of QAC Adult Day Care, VP of the PBCC 18 Holer’s golf association and director of the CRYC Junior sailing program. In 2011, Linda chaired the PBCC Rally For The Cure fundraiser and joined the Bosom Buddies Ball Committee.

Jean Beery

Jean Beery has been a member of the Bosom Buddies Ball Committee since 2010 and is its official photographer.

 

Ellen Bell

Ellen Bell and her husband Joel live in Queenstown, Maryland where they own and operate Hickory Ridge Stable. Ellen has worked as a graphic artist most of her career experiencing nine acquistions over the past 29 years. With the most recent acquistion, Ellen is now working as a Marketing Communications Manager for a Transportation division of Xerox. She and her husband have 3 daughters. Ellen is a breast cancer survivor of 5 years.

Becky Ehmann

Becky Ehmann and her husband moved to the Eastern Shorein 2003 after sailing here for more than 20 years. She retired from Continental Airlines as the Director of Human Resources and then worked for the Annapolis Capital covering news events in Queen Anne’s County. She is looking forward to working with this wonderful group of volunteers for the first time.

Terri Friedl

Terri Friedl has been on the Bosom Buddies Ball Committee since 2009. She was the recipient of the 2011 Bosom Buddies Ball Honoree.

Allie Gilbreath

Allie Gilbreath works as an associate with Capitol Strategies, LLC, in Annapolis, where she is involved in involvement in political action and legislative advocacy at the state level. She was a volunteer at the 2009 and 2010 Bosom Buddies Ball and joined the committee this year.  She feels the passion and commitment of the women within this organization is what every community needs and to be part of this philanthropy will be a fulfilling experience for her.

Veronica Haggart

Veronica “Roni” Haggart  moved to Kent Island 2 1/2 years ago after lengthy careers in both the public and private sectors in Washington, D.C.  Roni was appointed by the President of the United States as a Commissioner of the U.S. International Trade Commission and subsequently ran the global government relations and communications regulatory office for Motorola, Inc.  She joined the Bosom Buddies Ball Committee in 2011 and currently serves as Co-Chair of the Sponsor Committee.  She has also joined the Bosom Buddies Board.  Roni is President of the Cove Creek Club’s Women’s Association, a member of the Executive Committee of the Regent Grand condominium in the Turks & Caicos, and a member of the Women’s Forum of Washington, D.C.  She has one son and three stepchildren. Roni lost her paternal grandmother to breast cancer; her father was a breast cancer survivor.

Gail Kalvaitis

Gail Kalvaitis has owned and operated Club One for over 13 years and is passionate about helping people lead a healthy lifestyle. She is grateful to be part of such a great community.

Susan Kreamer

Susan Kreamer is a Realtor for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Annapolis. She lives on Kent Island and has been a member of the Bosom Buddies Committee for two years. She is the co-chair of the 2012 Ball Sponsorship Committee.

Robin Martin

Robin Martin resides in Ridgely, Maryland, with her husband and four young sons.  This is her first year as a committee member with Bosom Buddies Charities.  She is active in her community through volunteer positions with her children’s school, athletic organizations, and community associations.  She is an active networker, with memberships in three Chambers of Commerce,  leads groups, and is a graduate of Shore Leadership (2006).   Robin serves Maryland’s Upper Eastern Shore as Vice President of Business and Professional Banking for M&T Bank.  Her Aunt was lost to breast cancer.

Kristy Mirando

Kristy Mirando grew up on the North Shore of Long Island and moved to Stevensville in 2001 with her husband. She joined the Bosom Buddies Ball Committee in 2010. This is a cause she really cares about and realized how many women she knew and loved had breast cancer. She wants to make a difference in ther community and get the word out.

 

Suzanne Mulkey

Suzanne Mulkey and her husband, John, relocated to Kent Island full time mid 2003 from Colorado.  She has joined our committee for the first time this year.  Upon quitting work as a Business System Analyst/IS Project Manager for 16 years in the high tech industry, she has been actively involved in volunteer work in schools, church, professional associations, and other groups.  She and her husband have one son who a few years ago moved from Nevada to Baltimore.  She lost a paternal aunt to breast cancer, her mother was a survivor, and she is a survivor of 18 years.

Bryanna Schafer

Bryanna Schafer has lived in Queen Anne’s Country for 20 years.  After graduating from Kent Island High School, she received a Bachelors degree from Towson University.   Bryanna  now works for  IEP, a PRG Company, in Laurel.  She has been a member of the committee for the past two years and prior to that she was a volunteer at several Bosom Buddies Balls.

Michelina Scotto

Michelina Scotto resides in Stevensville with her daughter Marina.  This is her first year serving as a member of the committee for Bosom Buddies Charities, Inc.  She has been an active committee member for many organizations including Relay For Life, Mickey Steele Celebrity Poker & Golf Tournament and Annapolis Rotary.  She and her partner own Rustico Restaurant & Wine Bar and Luna Blu Ristorante Italiano in Annapolis.

Kris Shanahan

Kris Shanahan has over 25 years experience in the fitness industry as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, nutrition consultant, and competitive body builder. She is also a jewelry artist and owner of Ego-Alley. Kris is married to David Shanahan and they have two children. Cancer survivor: diagnosed with Lymphoma in 2007.

Dawn Sherwood

Dawn and her husband Geoff moved to Queenstown from Anne Arundel County in l994. She volunteered  in the office of Hospice of Queen Anne’s prior to her own diagnosis in 2007.  She is active in her church and enjoys supporting local businesses and charities. Dawn have been a member of Bosom Buddies since 2010.

Susan Vianna

Susan Vianna is President of Fishergate, a graphic design firm located in Chester. Fishergate designed the Bosom Buddies Ball logo and has designed the Ball’s program and other materials for the past 5 years. Susan moved to Kent Island in 1986 and enjoys giving back to the community by donating her time and graphic design services. In addition to being on the Bosom Buddies Ball Committee, she has been involved with fundraising projects for school PTAs, Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children of Queen Anne’s and Kent Counties, Chesapeake Women’s Network, Hospice of Queen Annes, and Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center

Paula Warner

Owner of Paula’s Fine Jewelry, Paula Warner has been involved with community activities since moving here from Wisconsin in 1999. She supports numerous events and organizations that help bring awareness and involvement in the fight against cancer. Having several family members who have suffered with cancer and breast cancer, she hopes to bring more awareness to the need for research and early detection of breast cancer. In addition to being a member of the Bosom Buddies Ball Committee, she is also President of the Queen Anne’s County United Way and is a  Hospice Gala committee member.

Karen White

Karen White is currently serving as the Treasurer of Bosom Buddies Charities, Inc., and has been part of the Bosom Buddies Ball Committee since 2007 and the Board since 2009.

As a breast cancer survivor of 11 years, Karen has been proud to work with this wonderful charity. Karen with her husband Jimmy, and two kids, moved to the Eastern Shore on Kent Island in 2001, while she was going through breast cancer treatment. Karen has been a Program Analyst at NASA Headquarters going on 40 yrs and works in the Space Operations Program. In addition to serving on the Bosom Buddies Charities committee, she has been the Treasurer for the Prospect Bay Country Club (PBCC) Yacht Club, Tuesday Twilight Golf, and the PBCC Annual Rally for the Cure Golf fund raising tournament. Karen is also a committee member of the NASA Federal Credit Union and treasurer for the NASA Headquarters Exchange Store.
